I just turned 16 and am currently in the market to buy a car. I am looking for something in the price range of around ,000, possibly a small four cylinder pick up, or a japanese sedan.
Does anyone have any sugestions for a good first car, and if any one has expeiriance with insurance can you tell me a price range of what I would be looking at for isurance, I have good grades and looking for a minnimum policy in Florida.

Thanks if anyone can help me although I know I probably wont get much help with the insurance part.

buy a pre 70′s. Buick, cadillac or ford galaxie. your first car your going to hit a pole backing up, run a curb, hit a trash can. might as well be safe. once you dent a small import there goes your 2000.00

I will be getting my first vehicle, fairly soon. I would really like to get a truck with 4WD, but my parents say that insurance for a 4WD is alot. Is it? and if it is, how much is it?
Some info that may help :I am male, i will be driving my own car when im 16 in 5 months, and we have century 21.

Hold on to your sense of normalcy, because this rollercoaster only stops at “mind f**k” avenue.

I met my most recent ex-girlfriend many many years ago. In fact, we have had a on/off relationship ever since I moved away for school. She would always break up with me. WHats worse is that my brother has been her uncle’s best friend since they were 15 (they are int heir mid forties now). Needless to say, my family knows theirs well before I was introduced to her. Our last run was last year around Feb (its almost been a year now) when she broke up with me and I finally realized she was a bloodthirsty harpy with no sense of morality (she told me she had been leading me along for years as a saftey net….)

I have alreadty moved on, but in the break-up, I guess I inherited HER friends. Namely her cousin and her cousin’s boyfriend. I remembered her when I met her at one of my ex’s family functions and stuff. She’s 4 years younger than me (she’s 20) and studying to be a nurse at a community college.
Listen, I like to think I have good tastes. I mean, I was raised in a family who mostly wore suits, and sent me to various military academies and boarding schools throughout the US for one hell of an education. But this girl. In all the metropolitan, backwoods, or towney place I lived in, she was hands down the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. Like a classic, dark eyes and hair beauty that looks like she’s carved out of marble in a black dress and can make even the most uggliest of fashion statements look good.

So naturally, me and her boyfriend became good friends. To be honest, hes a really good guy. Hes a 20 year old mortgage and insurance salesman. Hes kind of…well..dense? He had his bout with steroids, and definately has the short muscular build of someone who had abused them, lol. I don’t really judge em for that though. He does, however, treat his girlfriend like utter shit. Seriously. There have been points where he has said things in front of me that even I had to cut through the awkward lover’s quarrel to join her in saying “Holy crap dude!” from the things that come outa this guys mouth.

They have been together since they were 15.

I didn’t really mean to feel the way I do, I mean, I can’t really control feelings just happen to be there. I can, and did, however, ignore them.

We got along great for months. Most times that he would come over, she would come over too. I started looking forward to it. But, I am never the one to act on something like that. It was like a crush that you enjoyed from a far. A guilty pleasure maybe? Certainly nothing I would ever act act.

Then recently, his behaviour got really bad. I mean, his comments and insults to his girlfriend were getting intense, openly calling her retard and dumbass (in a serious, yelling tone). I was alone in the car with her while he started to gas up at the station and I asked her what she got him for Christmas.

“Nothing, hes been acting like an asshole for so long, I don’t know how to tell him its over, you know?”

That was a wierd bomb for me too.

I instantly shut up, but I couldnt read her face to see what exactly she meant by that and how serious she was. She did sound serious though.

I have had 2 more moments where she has mentioned something like that.

When we are all chilling together, she always takes my side in my witty debate with her boyfriend. She winks sometimes, and I might be crazy but I think she looks forward to the kiss on the cheek to say bye whenever she leaves. She has even winked at me in certain ways before, though that could just be her way or joking with me.

What do I do?

Tell my best friend his girlfriend is thinking about breaking up with him?
Do nothing?
Do something?
What if something does come of it? I mean, to steal your best friends girl? I don’t think I have the stomnache for something like that, no matter how much I wanted to.

I don’t think Iv’e ever been this confused at a situation before.

In fact, my lease is up in this apt that we have all been hanging around. I am moving to my parents house for 3 months to save a downpayment for tuition and a decent place (i.e. a place with a yard for my dog). I always liked to say, to my eternal torment and pride, “My parents are rich, I am not”. My mother drives a 120,000 mercedes and I drive an 8000 nissan versa i paid for myself, hehe.

Really you have answered your own question. It’s too complicated, keep out of it. If the guy was such a jerk she would have broken up with him by now, right? She obviously still likes him for something. I think you are over-analysing stuff way too much. Distance yourself from the situation, go and find some new friends.
